Your Home.
Built to a 25-Year Standard.

Eighteen residential services under one roof and one name. Kitchens, baths, whole homes, new builds, roofing, and the trades that tie them together, every one run through Richard and a written scope.

Residential construction and remodeling by The North Group LLC

Every service below is its own discipline with its own page, and every one runs on the same spine: a free consultation, a written scope with honest numbers, permits and inspections handled, and Richard personally on the project. Recent work from these pages lives in the project gallery.

How Residential Work Runs at The North Group

Every home project starts the same way: Richard walks the property with you, listens to what you actually want, and looks at what the house will and will not allow. The walkthrough costs nothing and commits you to nothing. What you get afterward is a written scope with line items, stated allowances, and a real schedule, so the price you agree to is the price the job runs on. Changes get priced in writing before they happen, never discovered on the final invoice.

We deliberately take a limited number of projects at a time. That is a slower way to grow a construction company and a much better way to build one, because it means the owner of the company is on your job, answering your questions, checking the framing before the drywall closes it in. Homeowners across Lumberton, Fayetteville, Raeford, and the rest of the fifty-mile radius have figured out that the difference between a good result and a callback headache usually comes down to who is actually running the work.

The trades hold to the same standard as the headline work. Drywall gets finished to level four before paint. Plumbing and electrical inside a remodel get pulled through permits and inspected, not buried. Roofing gets diagnosed from the roof and the attic, not from the driveway. If a repair is the honest answer, you get the repair, and when the roof genuinely ages out you will call us first because of it.

Insurance work deserves its own mention because so much residential construction in southeastern North Carolina follows Carolina weather. Storm, water, and fire rebuilds run through the claims process with documentation your adjuster will accept, and we would rather you call us before the adjuster visit than after. The rebuild itself is held to the same written-scope standard as any remodel, because an insurance job is still your house.

Where We Do Residential Work

Based in Lumberton and working a true fifty-mile radius: Fayetteville, Raeford, Spring Lake, Hope Mills, Bladenboro, Elizabethtown, Pembroke, Fairmont, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and the towns in between. Every city has its own page under service areas, and the same crews carry the same standard to every address on that map.

Planning a Home Project the Sensible Way

Most homeowners plan a remodel once or twice in a lifetime, so here is the order of operations that keeps projects sane. Decide what the space has to do before you decide what it should look like; function drives cost far more than finishes do. Get the walkthrough early, even if the project is a year out, because the scope conversation will sharpen your planning more than any amount of online research. Budget honestly for the unglamorous work first: structure, water management, wiring, and insulation are what make the pretty layer last. And sequence around your household’s reality. We have remodeled kitchens for families that never missed a home-cooked dinner, because the temporary kitchen got planned with the same seriousness as the permanent one.

Permits are our job, not yours. Anything structural, electrical, or plumbing gets pulled through the county properly and inspected, and the inspection dates live in your schedule where you can see them. It is slower on paper than the handshake way and faster in practice, because nothing gets rebuilt twice.

Start With a Walkthrough. Questions

Do you handle small residential jobs or only full remodels?

Both. A single roof leak or one bathroom gets the same free walkthrough and written scope as a whole-home renovation. Most of our long client relationships started with a small job done right.

Who runs my project day to day?

Richard. The North Group deliberately takes a limited number of projects at a time so the owner is on every one of them. You will not be handed to a rotating project manager.

Do you pull permits for residential work?

Yes. Permits and inspections are part of the written scope on every job that needs them, and we schedule the inspections ourselves.

Can you work while we live in the house?

Usually, yes. We sequence rooms so the house stays livable, protect floors and furniture, and clean up at the end of every workday. The schedule in your scope shows exactly which rooms are open when.

How do payments work on home projects?

Every project starts with a written proposal: line items, stated allowances, and a real schedule. Payments follow completed milestones, so you always see the work before the draw.

What if I am not sure which service my project falls under?

Call and describe it in your own words. The service pages exist for detail, but the walkthrough is where scope actually gets defined, and it costs nothing.
