Roof Replacement
Torn Off, Inspected, Rebuilt Right.

Full tear-off roof replacement across southeastern North Carolina. Deck inspected and repaired, storm-rated installation, and a roof built for the weather this region actually gets.

A roof replacement done right is a system, not a layer of shingles. Tear-off down to the deck, replacement of soft decking, ice-and-water protection where water concentrates, synthetic underlayment, correct flashing at every wall and penetration, and shingles nailed to the manufacturer pattern so the wind warranty actually holds.

We replace roofs the way we would on our own houses, because in this county a roof gets tested every hurricane season. Richard has torn off enough failed roofs in 25 years to know exactly which shortcuts show up later, and where.

What a North Group Replacement Includes

  • Full tear-off, never overlays. Layering new shingles over old hides deck damage and voids most wind ratings. We take the roof to the wood, every time.
  • Deck inspection and repair. Every sheet of decking checked from above and below where accessible. Soft or delaminated sections replaced and photographed before they get covered.
  • Complete water barrier. Ice and water membrane in the valleys and at penetrations, synthetic underlayment across the field, and new drip edge at every eave and rake.
  • New flashing throughout. Chimney, sidewall, and valley flashing replaced, not reused. Reused flashing is the most common reason a new roof leaks in year two.
  • Architectural shingles, storm-nailed. Quality shingle lines installed on the manufacturer nailing pattern with the high-wind schedule this region calls for. Manufacturer-backed coverage options are on our warranty roofing page.
  • Ventilation corrected. Ridge and intake ventilation balanced while the roof is open. Poor attic ventilation cooks shingles from below and voids warranties, and most older roofs here have it wrong.

Built for Hurricane Country

Between tropical systems coming up from the coast and straight-line summer storms, roofs in the Lumberton area see real wind every year. The difference between a roof that sheds a storm and one that peels is invisible from the street: nailing pattern, starter course adhesion, edge metal, and flashing detail.

That is also why we photograph the installation as it happens. You get a record of what is under your shingles, which matters for insurance and for resale.

Replacement Without the Runaround

You get a written scope with the exact materials specified by name, a real installation date, and a crew that shows up when we said. Tear-off to cleanup is usually one to two days for a typical home, magnetic sweep included.

If storm damage is driving the replacement, our insurance roofing process documents everything for the claim. Compare finished work in the gallery, then book a free consultation for an inspection and honest numbers.

Three Replacements, Three Reasons

The aged-out original.

Twenty-six years on the original shingles, granules filling the gutters every rain. Replaced before it failed, on the owner’s schedule instead of a storm’s.

The post-storm total.

Wind damage across every slope, documented properly, carrier paid for full replacement. The new roof went on to the high-wind spec the old one never had. Details on that path live on our insurance roofing page.

The pre-sale roof.

A listing that would not survive inspection. Replaced with documented materials and a transferable warranty, and the sale closed without a roofing credit fight.

Roof Replacement Questions, Answered

How do I know it is time to replace my roof?

Age past twenty years on three-tab or past twenty-five on architectural shingles, widespread granule loss, curling or brittle shingles, and repairs that keep coming back. We inspect and photograph everything, then tell you honestly whether repair still makes sense. Sometimes it does.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family homes are one to two days from tear-off to magnetic-swept yard. Larger or steeper roofs, or decks that need significant repair, can add a day. Weather windows are planned so your house is never left open.

What shingles do you recommend?

Architectural shingles from the major manufacturers, installed to their high-wind nailing spec. The specific line depends on your budget and the coverage you want behind it. We spell out the exact product in the proposal so you can verify everything.

Will insurance pay for my roof replacement?

If the roof has qualifying storm damage, often yes. We document the damage before you file, meet the adjuster on site, and make sure the scope covers what replacement actually requires. Details are on our insurance roofing page, or call (910) 785-9253.

Do you haul away the old roof?

Yes. Tear-off debris is contained during work, hauled the same day, and the yard gets a magnetic sweep for nails. The job is not done until the property looks like we were never there.

What does a new roof cost in the Lumberton area?

Size, pitch, deck condition, and material line drive it. After an inspection you get a written price with the materials named. No pressure tactics and no mystery line items, just numbers you can compare.

Do you replace decking, and does it cost extra?

Soft, delaminated, or rotted decking gets replaced, and the proposal states the per-sheet price up front so tear-off surprises have a known number attached. What we will not do is nail new shingles over decking that flexes, because the fasteners will not hold and the warranty will not either.

Can you upgrade my attic ventilation during the replacement?

Yes, and replacement is exactly the time. Ridge vents cut in, intake cleared or added at the soffits, and bath fans redirected out of the attic. Balanced ventilation lowers summer cooling load and is a condition of most shingle warranties, so it pays twice.

What happens to my landscaping during tear-off?

We protect it before the first shingle comes off: tarps over shrubs and beds, plywood shields where debris slides, and the trailer positioned to keep traffic off the lawn. The magnetic sweep at the end covers the yard and the driveway. Your landscaping should not pay for your roof.

The Two Days That Protect Everything Else

Your roof is the only system standing between weather and every other dollar you have put into the house: the drywall, the floors, the kitchen, the photographs in the attic. Replacement is a two-day project that either protects all of it for decades or quietly fails at the first tropical system. The difference is entirely in details you cannot see from the driveway.

That is why our process is photographed, itemized, and inspected. You should not have to take a roof on faith, and with us you do not have to.
