Insurance Roofing
Storm Damage, Documented and Done.
Roof insurance claims across southeastern North Carolina, from honest damage assessment through documented replacement. No storm-chaser games.

After every named storm, this county fills up with out-of-state trucks promising free roofs. Six months later they are gone, the workmanship calls go to voicemail, and homeowners are left holding whatever got nailed on. Insurance roofing done right is a local contractor’s job, because the warranty is only as good as the company still being here.
The North Group has been here 25 years and will be here after the next storm too. We assess honestly, document thoroughly, support the claim properly, and install to the same standard as our full-price roof replacements.
How We Handle a Roof Claim
- Honest damage inspection. Hail bruising, wind creasing, lifted tabs, and impact damage photographed and marked. If the roof does not have claimable damage, we say so and you keep your premium history clean.
- Pre-claim documentation. Date-stamped photos and a written damage summary before you ever call the carrier, so the claim starts with evidence instead of a guess.
- Adjuster meeting on your roof. We walk the inspection with the adjuster and make sure every slope, every soft metal, and every collateral item gets seen. Roof claims shrink when nobody advocates on the roof.
- Full-scope replacement. Tear-off, deck repair, ice and water barrier, new flashing, and storm-pattern nailing. The claim scope becomes a real roof, not a minimum-spec patch.
- Supplement handling. Deck rot and code-required items discovered during tear-off get documented and submitted, not skipped.
- Deductible honesty. Your deductible is your legal responsibility and we put it in writing. Anyone offering to eat it is committing insurance fraud with your name attached.
Hurricane Country Reality
Between tropical systems and summer straight-line winds, roofs around Lumberton, Fayetteville, and Raeford take real hits on a regular cycle. Carriers know it, which is why documentation standards keep rising. A claim built on two phone photos gets the minimum. A claim built on a professional inspection gets what the policy actually owes.
We also install for the next storm, not just the last one: high-wind nailing schedules, sealed starter courses, and edge metal that holds. Details on manufacturer-backed coverage are on our warranty roofing page.
Local Accountability
Every insurance roof we install carries our written workmanship warranty, and our office is a local phone number, not a P.O. box two states away. Look at the work in the gallery and compare it against what the storm chasers leave behind.

Three Claims, Three Outcomes Done Right
The clean hail claim.
Documented strikes across all slopes, adjuster walked the roof with us, full replacement approved in two weeks. The roof went on to spec with the deductible paid honestly and in writing.
The partial-denial reversal.
Carrier’s first scope covered one slope. Our photo map and the follow-up re-inspection got the full roof approved, because the evidence made the argument unnecessary.
The claim we advised against.
Scattered wear, no storm signature, damage below the deductible. We told the homeowner not to file, repaired the two real problems for a few hundred dollars, and kept their claims history clean. That is also insurance roofing.
Insurance Roofing Questions, Answered
How do I know if my roof has storm damage worth a claim?
From the ground you might see missing tabs or metal creasing, but most hail and wind damage is only visible on the roof. We inspect free, photograph everything, and give you a straight answer: real claim, borderline, or not worth filing. About a third of the time the answer is not worth filing.
How long do I have to file a storm damage claim in North Carolina?
Policies vary, but most carriers expect prompt notice and many set hard windows measured in months. Damage also weathers and becomes harder to attribute over time. If a storm hit, get the inspection done within weeks, not seasons.
Will filing a roof claim raise my insurance rates?
Weather claims are generally treated differently from negligence claims, but carrier behavior varies and regional storm activity affects everyone’s premiums regardless. We give you the damage evidence and the honest picture so the filing decision is truly yours.
What happens if the adjuster denies or underpays the claim?
Denials and short scopes can be challenged with better evidence. We provide the documentation for a re-inspection and meet the second adjuster on the roof. Call (910) 785-9253 before accepting a scope that feels thin.
Do you require the insurance check before starting?
We work on a standard draw schedule tied to the claim payments: typically the ACV check to start, with recoverable depreciation and supplements collected as the carrier releases them. It is all in writing before a shingle moves.
A door knocker says I have hail damage. Should I sign anything?
Do not sign on the spot. Post-storm contingency agreements can lock you to a contractor you have never vetted. Get an independent inspection first. We inspect free, show you the photos, and you decide with evidence instead of doorstep pressure.
What is an ACV check versus recoverable depreciation?
Carriers typically pay actual cash value first, then release the depreciation they held back once the work is completed and invoiced. We manage that paperwork sequence routinely so the full replacement value actually arrives.
Do you offer financing for the deductible?
We offer honest payment scheduling, not deductible games. Your deductible is set by your policy and paying it is required; waiving it is fraud in North Carolina as everywhere else. If cash flow is tight we will structure the draw schedule reasonably, in writing, like professionals.
The Local Test
Here is the filter that sorts roofing companies after a storm: ask where the owner was during Hurricane Matthew. If the answer is another state, the warranty conversation is theoretical. The North Group tarped, repaired, and replaced roofs across this county through Matthew, Florence, and every unnamed blow since. Same phone number the whole time.
Local also means we install for this county’s inspectors, this county’s wind, and this county’s insurers, whose adjusters we have met on hundreds of roofs. That familiarity is not charm. It is scope accuracy, and it shows up in what your claim pays.
