Almost every real remodel touches plumbing. The kitchen island wants a sink, the new bathroom needs a rough-in, the laundry is moving upstairs, and the sixty-year-old galvanized supply lines should have been replaced a decade ago. The question is never whether plumbing is involved. It is who coordinates it so the walls only open once.

The North Group runs plumbing scopes with licensed plumbing trades under our contract and our schedule. One point of accountability, sequencing that puts pipe in the wall before drywall closes it, and pressure testing before anything gets buried.

Plumbing Scopes We Coordinate

  • Remodel rough-in and relocation. Moving sinks, adding island drains, relocating laundry connections, and roughing in new bathrooms as part of our bathroom and kitchen projects.
  • Fixture installation. Faucets, toilets, tubs, shower valves, and disposals installed and tested. Shower valves set at the right depth for the finished wall, which is the detail handymen miss.
  • Supply line replacement. Repiping aging galvanized and polybutylene lines in PEX or copper while a remodel has the walls open. The cheapest time to repipe is when the drywall is already off.
  • Drain and vent corrections. Fixing the slow drains, gurgling vents, and improvised traps left behind by past shortcut work. Venting is code for a reason: it is what keeps sewer gas outside the house.
  • Water heater replacement. Tank and tankless replacements sized to the household, with expansion tanks and pan drains where code and common sense call for them.
  • Below-grade and ejector systems. Basement bathroom pump systems and below-grade drainage as part of our basement remodeling work.

Old Pipes, Old Houses, Straight Answers

A lot of housing stock around Robeson County still carries original supply and drain lines. Galvanized pipe closes up like a clogged artery, and slab-era drains grow root intrusions. If we open your walls for a remodel and the plumbing is on borrowed time, you will hear it from us with photos, a price, and zero pressure, because pipe replaced during a remodel costs half of what it costs as its own emergency.

One Contract, Tested Work

Every plumbing scope we run gets pressure-tested before close-in and inspected where permits apply. You get photos of what went in the wall and a single number to call if anything ever drips: (910) 785-9253.

Three Plumbing Scopes From Real Projects

The island sink that seemed impossible.

An island relocation needing drain and vent where no wall exists. An island vent loop under the floor solved it, inspected and hidden, which is the point.

The whole-house repipe during a remodel.

Galvanized lines replaced in PEX while three rooms were already open. Two extra days, half the standalone price, and water pressure the owners had never experienced in that house.

The laundry that moved upstairs.

Supply, drain, vent, pan, and a dedicated circuit into a closet nobody used. The basement stairs stopped being a laundry route the same week.

Plumbing Services Questions, Answered

Are you licensed for plumbing work in North Carolina?

Plumbing in North Carolina is performed by licensed plumbing contractors, and that is exactly how we run it: licensed plumbing trades executing the scope under The North Group’s contract, coordination, and schedule. You get trade licensing and general-contractor accountability on the same job.

Can you move my washer and dryer upstairs?

Yes. A laundry relocation needs supply, drain, venting, and a pan with a drain line, plus a dedicated circuit. It is a routine scope inside a remodel and a great example of work that should be coordinated, not improvised.

Should I repipe my old galvanized plumbing?

If your pressure is dropping and your water runs rusty after vacations, the pipe is telling you. Galvanized lines corrode shut from the inside. Repiping during a remodel, while walls are open, is dramatically cheaper than as a standalone emergency. We will give you the honest math.

Do you handle plumbing emergencies?

Our focus is remodel and project plumbing rather than burst-pipe dispatch. If water is flowing right now, shut off the main and call a 24-hour service. For the rebuild after the water damage, that is our insurance remodeling work, and we are very good at it.

What does remodel plumbing cost?

Scope drives it: a faucet swap, a full bathroom rough-in, and a whole-house repipe are different animals. Plumbing line items appear in your written proposal individually so you can see exactly what the water side of the project costs.

Should I switch to a tankless water heater?

If your household runs out of hot water or the tank is due anyway, tankless is worth pricing: endless hot water and floor space back, at a higher install cost and with gas line or electrical upgrades sometimes required. We run the actual numbers for your house instead of reciting the brochure.

What is that water hammer bang in my pipes?

Fast-closing valves on washers and dishwashers slamming moving water to a stop. Arrestors at the offending fixtures and proper strapping on loose lines fix it. It is a small job that also protects your joints and connections from repeated shock.

Where is my main water shutoff, and why does it matter?

Usually at the meter near the street and again where the line enters the house, and every adult in the house should know both. When a line fails, minutes of flowing water equal thousands in damage. We show clients their shutoffs on every plumbing project we run. It is free and it is the best insurance in the house.

Water Is the House’s Best Friend and Worst Enemy

Every expensive failure we rebuild traces to water: the slow supply drip inside a wall, the drain that seeped into a subfloor for two years, the water heater that let go on a holiday weekend. Plumbing scope on a remodel is cheap insurance against becoming one of our insurance remodeling projects later.

So when the walls are open, we look at everything the water touches, not just the fixture being moved. Five minutes with a flashlight and a pressure gauge has saved our clients more money than any coupon ever printed.
